Following the success of 2023, Austin hosted the second ATX Open at Westwood Country Club, a private member-owned tennis club, from February 24 to March 3, 2024.

Nestled amongst nature, alongside the Colorado River, this eagerly anticipated event is Austin’s only professional tour-level tennis tournament and the city’s largest women’s professional sporting event. It forms part of the Hologic WTA Tour and features world-class players in a singles draw of 32 players and a doubles draw of 16 teams.

Padel39 was proud and privileged to be invited to feature at the event by ATX Open Tournament Director Christo Van Rensburg. Over the nine days, we shared our passion for racquet sports and introduced the dynamic sport of Padel to an estimated 20,000 tennis fans who attended.

We supported the event with two booths – one to showcase our first Padel39 location near The Domain and the second to enable visitors to experience Padel and win some exciting Padel39 prizes.

Our Booths

We displayed renderings of the first Padel39 location near The Domain and Q2 Stadium that will open this summer. We also showed footage of matches from The World Padel Tour. And, we had a game returning balls fed from a padel ball machine to hit targets. The highest score of the week was 9 out of 10 balls by Jason Lee pictured here.

Prizes Galore

Padel participants had the opportunity to win great Padel39 prizes, including towels and T-shirts. Thousands of visitors entered the Giveaway to win a membership to Padel39, padel racquets, and other prizes.

Tennis Stars

The tennis stars got to experience Padel at the ATX Open. Here’s Naomi with the fabulous World No. 185, Fernanda Contreras, who was born in Mexico and now lives in Austin, Texas. She had an epic match on Grandstand against World No. 11, Taylor Townsend, and lost in three sets 6-3, 2-6, 3-6.

Thanks, ATX Open. We look forward to next year.
